Free trading journal for cTrader.
Elave is a free trading journal for cTrader. You sign in with your cTrader ID on cTrader's own page, and the accounts on that ID sync to your journal from Elave's servers, demo or live. Nothing to install, so it works from a Mac, a Windows PC or a phone. No card, no subscription.

How cTrader trades get into the journal.
cTrader sync uses cTrader's Open API. You click Sign in with cTrader, log in on cTrader's own page and approve Elave. You never type your cTrader password into Elave.
After that, Elave reads the accounts on your cTrader ID and their closed trades from its servers. cTrader does not need to be open on your computer for trades to arrive.
You need at least one cTrader account, demo or live, on the cTrader ID you sign in with.

How to set up cTrader sync.
- Create your free Elave account and open Connect.
- Choose cTrader and click Sign in with cTrader.
- Log in with your cTrader ID on cTrader's page and approve access.
- Your accounts appear in Accounts, and closed trades fill the trade log, calendar and analytics.
What lands in your journal.
- Trade log: every trade per account, filterable.
- P&L calendar: green and red days, with a day view for each one.
- Analytics: expectancy, profit factor, drawdown, average R, costs and streaks, split by session, weekday and hour.
- Strategy tags, so each setup gets its own numbers.
- Trade detail with notes, ratings and a review queue for the trades you haven't reviewed yet.
- An AI trade review that scores how impulsive each trade looked, from 0 to 100.
- Equity curves for several accounts side by side on the journal home, each account in its own currency.
What cTrader sync does not do.
- Guardian, Elave's risk manager, does not run here. Its rules, daily-limit checks and on-chart panel work on MetaTrader 5 only; this platform gets the journal.
- It reads only the accounts on the cTrader ID you sign in with. An account on another ID needs its own sign-in.
- The file import lists MetaTrader, TradingView and Myfxbook formats. For cTrader, the sign-in sync is the supported route.
- Manual trade entry is not offered. Every trade comes from a sync or an imported file, so the journal matches a real record.
Frequently asked questions.
Is there a free trading journal for cTrader?
Yes. Elave's trading journal is free for cTrader, with no card, no subscription and no paid tiers. You sign in with your cTrader ID and your accounts sync automatically into a trade log, P&L calendar, analytics by session and setup, trade notes and an AI trade review of each trade.
How does the cTrader journal sync work?
Elave connects through cTrader's Open API. You sign in with your cTrader ID on cTrader's own page and approve Elave, and Elave then reads your accounts and closed trades from its servers. There is nothing to install, and cTrader does not need to be open for trades to arrive.
Is it safe to connect cTrader to a trading journal?
You sign in on cTrader's own page, so Elave never sees or stores your cTrader password. cTrader hands Elave an access token after you approve it, and Elave uses it to read your accounts and closed trades for the journal. Review any app's requested access on the consent screen before you approve.
Does the cTrader journal work on a Mac?
Yes. The cTrader connection runs between Elave's servers and cTrader, so it works the same from a Mac, a Windows PC or a phone browser. You sign in once with your cTrader ID, and the journal, P&L calendar and analytics open in any browser afterwards. There is nothing to install.
Can I journal cTrader demo accounts?
Yes. Elave syncs the demo and live accounts on the cTrader ID you sign in with, and you need at least one of either. If you don't have a cTrader account yet, you can open a demo on your cTrader ID first, then come back and sign in with cTrader.
Can I use Guardian on cTrader?
No. Guardian, Elave's risk manager, runs on MetaTrader 5 only. Its rule checks, daily-limit closing and on-chart panel live in the MT5 EA. A cTrader account gets the full journal, with the trade log, P&L calendar, analytics, notes and AI trade review, but no rules enforced on the chart.
